Quick answers about Hatchet West in downtown West Jefferson, NC: hours, location, menu, events, and how to reach us.
What are Hatchet West’s hours?
We are open 7AM–4PM Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays.
Where is Hatchet West located?
Hatchet West is at 13A East 2nd Street in downtown West Jefferson, NC 28694, in the heart of downtown. Street parking is available nearby.
How is Hatchet West related to Hatchet Coffee in Boone?
Hatchet West is the quieter brother to the Original Hatchet Coffee in Boone, a youthful, high-energy café and roastery. Same dedication to high quality coffee and espresso, with an Ashe County vibe in downtown West Jefferson. We are a separate location in West Jefferson, not the Boone shop.
Do you serve breakfast in West Jefferson?
Not a full plated breakfast — we don’t serve eggs, grits, biscuits, or other hot breakfast plates. If a lighter morning of coffee and fresh pastry sounds right, you’re in the right place. We open at 7AM Monday through Saturday with Hatchet Coffee espresso and drip, matcha and chai lattes, tea, and a rotating Stick Boy Bread Company case of bagels, muffins, scones, and pastries. Come by early for a quiet start to the day.
What do you serve on the menu?
We serve Hatchet Coffee Roasters beans (bottomless drip and espresso drinks with Blue Ridge Blend), teas from Asheville Tea Company, Dona Chai lattes, ceremonial grade matcha lattes, and a rotating case of baked goods from Stick Boy Bread Company. See our full menu at hatchetwest.com/menu.
Do you have pastries or food?
Yes. Our case is stocked with fresh baked goods from Stick Boy Bread Company in Boone: bagels, scones, muffins, cookies, pastries, and sweet breads. Selections rotate often.
Is Hatchet West dog-friendly?
Yes, on our outdoor seating. Dogs are welcome at our sidewalk bistro tables on East 2nd Street. Because we serve food, non-service dogs are not permitted indoors under the NCDHHS Food Code.
What is Open Jam?
Open Jam is every Friday from 2PM–4PM with Conncert Music World. All people, skill levels, and instruments are welcome. Bring your guitar or just yourself. Listen, sing along, or dance if you feel like it.
How can I contact Hatchet West?
We don’t list a public phone number. Most days we’re on the floor with customers in the shop, and we’d rather stay present in the room than step away for calls. Email hello@hatchetwest.com or message us on Instagram at @hatchetwest. We read both and reply as soon as possible.
Who does Hatchet West partner with in the community?
We work with local bakers, makers, and organizations across Ashe County, including Hatchet Coffee Roasters, Stick Boy Bread Company, Asheville Tea Company, and many others. See hatchetwest.com/partnerships for the full list.
